Eligibility Requirements for Flight Instructor

  • Be at least 18 years old.
  • Hold a commercial pilot certificate with instrument rating.
  • Be able to read, speak, write, and understand the English language.
  • Receive the ground training and pass the FAA knowledge test ( Fundamental of Instruction and Flight Instructor Airplane).
  • Receive the spin training and the endorsement.
  • Receive the required flight training and pass the FAA practical test.
  • Hold at least a third-class medical certificate.

Flight Experience Requirements for Flight Instructor

  • As long as you have a commercial pilot certificate and the instrument rating, there is no specific training time required. Instead of the flight training, we emphasize how to teach the students, that means how to transfer your knowledge and skill to your students. This will be covered during the ground instruction for Fundamental of Instruction.
