Approvals and Authorizations
FAA Approvals

Nice Air is FAA Approved for Private Pilot to Flight Instructor for airplane as well as an FAA Approved Maintenance Repair Station. Nice Air is FAA Approved by choice, not because it is required. Many flight schools choose to operate their schools loosely under FAR Part 61 and are not an approved Repair Station.

The main difference between approved flight schools and non-appoved schools, is we at Nice Air follow Federal Air Regulations Part 14. This requires a flight training syllabus for each course, instructor standardization, supervision and stage checks by the Chief or Assistant Chief Flight Instructor, and regular FAA inspections of school facilities, aircraft, simulators and training devices, as well as student training records, and instructor records. In order to maintain the FAA's approval, Nice Air must maintain at least an 80% first time pass rate for all graduates on FAA Flight Test. However, if a students requests they wish to be instructed under FAR part 61, we will accommodate you.

Nice Air under goes similar type of inspections to maintain our Repair Station status. We are visited by the FAA for inspections on our maintenance facility, aircraft, etc..

Veterans Flight Training

Nice Air is approved to provide flight training for eligible veterans who served in the United States armed forces between 1977 to the present. The current program provides 60 percent assistance to veterans holding a private pilot certificate and meeting the second class requirements for a commercial pilot certificate. The 60% assistance does not cover books, materials or test fees. Veterans must pursue a course of training recognized as being necessary to achieve a vocation in the aviation industry.

If you believe you may be eligible for educational assistance under this program, you should contact the Veterans Administration Office at (800) 827-1000 or visit their Web site. If you are still on active duty, you may wish to contact your Base Education Officer. If it is determined that you are eligible for benefits under this program, the VA will issue a certificate of eligibility stating both your eligibility and monetary entitlement. At the end of each month, a Monthly Certification of Flight Training form is prepared and submitted to the VA for payment. The payment of eligible benefits is made directly to the veteran, not to the school. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the veteran to pay for all flight training as received.
